Training on advanced measurement technique at the W.A.T.E.R. Workshop 2019
The W.A.T.E.R (Workshop on Advanced measurement Techniques and Experimental Research) Summer School started in 2016 by the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the IAHR Experimental Methods and Instrumentation Committee (EMI). This Summer School is focused on experimental methods applied in different hydraulics fields.
After two editions in september in Belgium, the third edition was a real, hot and sunny, summer week in june in Bologna, Italy. The Department of Civil, Chemical, Environmental and Materials Engineering of the University of Bologna hosted the 4th edition at the Hydraulic Engineering Laboratory from 24th to 28th June 2019. The program included lectures experimental sessions about both laboratory and field measurements using optical and acoustic state of the art measurement equipment.
For this year’s edition, amongst other practical exercises, participants were given the opportunity to learn about ADVPs and bistatic measurements, through a training with our new UB-Lab 2C.
A field trip to river Po was organized, with use of a UAV with mounted ADCP, as well as a survey boat tour.
