Measurement campaign with a new multi-bistatic transducers head for turbulence studies
To bring the multi-bistatic ultrasonic velocity profiling, also called ADVP (Acoustic Doppler Velocity Profiling), to more applications and users, we conceived a new transducers head, which is more robust (stainless steel) and adapted to harsher environments such as field campaigns.
The pictures below show a 2C version with one emitter and two receivers (see bistatic measurement method) and installed in a ship-shaped bell. The ship-shaped bell allows the positioning of the transducers higher in the flume, to gain in exploration depth.
