Scottish event on Eco-Hydraulics!

We were pleased to participate in and sponsor this very nicely organised conference: 10th International Symposium on Environmental Hydraulics 2024 (ISEH2024), from 25th to 27th of June 2024 in Aberdeen, Scotland.

This IAHR conference was very neatly organised by Prof. Dominic van der a and his team from the University of Aberdeen.

It gathered experts and students from all over the world, discussing especially around the symposium’s theme “environmental hydraulics for a sustainable and resilient future”.

The Fluid Mechanics Research Group at the University of Aberdeen co-organised with Ubertone a hands-on WUD (Workshop on Ultrasonic Doppler) on the 24th; day before the conference.

Ubertone’s team presented our solutions at a stand during the whole conference, illustrating the technologies through posters and a demonstration flume.

Visitors showed great interest in the versatility of the UB-Lab UVPs, and the performances of the UB-Lab 3C, both replacement possibilities for the ADVs.

Interesting applications and future collaboration possibilities were discussed, thank you for visiting and for all the exchanges! We will keep in touch.

Amongst the presentations, we would like to underline two of them, which presented the ADVP and ACVP measurement principles and application examples:

  • Dr Guillaume Fromant: “Wave boundary Layer and Sediment transport observations in the field”, showing field measurement with our prototype UB-Flow 3C
  • Dr David Hurther: “Hydroacoustic ACVP measurements of bedload sediment concentration profile and net sediment transport rate”

The symposium was accompanied by social events.

The highlight of the week was probably the conference dinner, including traditional live music performances, traditional group dancing including all the participants and an afterparty in a very well furnished whisky pub.

We would like to thank the organisers, including professors, administrative personnel, researchers, students, for this very successful event!
